A consigned executive -type semi -government agency under the Ministry of Education, which provides student funding for college students. It is a foundation created by the government to ease the burden of university students in the Lee Myung -bak administration for the surge in university tuition since the participatory government. In May 2009, it was established to solve the high tuition problem, which was a social issue at the time, and accordingly, the Korean Academic Foundation, the Korea Science Foundation, and the Korea Housing Finance Corporation were in charge of the school funding projects, and the Korean Science Foundation and the Korea Academic Promotion Foundation were also in charge of scholarship and student funding projects.
