Station began as a smart browser for busy people and is now a free, open-source app maintained by its community on GitHub. Its last stable release came out in December 2024.
Singlebox is built and supported by a dedicated team: one window for your messaging, email, and work apps, with every account signed in and your setup synced across computers.

What is Singlebox?
Singlebox is a dedicated desktop app for your messaging, email, and work apps, on Mac and Windows. Every app or account is its own profile with an isolated session, so your inboxes and chats stay signed in side by side, each with its own unread badge.
What is Station?
Station is a free, open-source (Apache 2.0) app that brings web apps into one window, with a dock that groups pages by app and support for multiple accounts. It's maintained by volunteers on GitHub, and its former website is no longer run by the project. This comparison is based on Station 3.
1. Kept up to date
Station's last stable release, 3.3, came out in December 2024, and a 4.0 beta followed in August 2026. Singlebox is built by a dedicated team and updates itself automatically, so your apps keep working as the web changes.
2. Your setup on every computer
Station doesn't sync your apps between computers, and a request to add it was closed as not planned. Singlebox syncs your profiles, bookmarks, and settings across your computers on every plan, including free.
3. Help when you need it
Station's help comes from its community on GitHub. Singlebox is built and supported by a dedicated team, so if something goes wrong, you can reach the Singlebox team directly.
4. Every account, neatly organized
Station added support for multiple accounts in 2024, and its dock groups open pages by app. In Singlebox, every app or account is its own profile with an isolated session, in one profile bar with folders, tabs and tab groups inside each app, and a command palette.
Moving from Station
- Download Singlebox and sign in.
- Add the apps you used in Station from the catalog, or paste any website's address.
- Sign in to each account. Every account gets its own profile, and you can keep using Station until you're ready.
Which one should you choose?
Station is still a good fit if you:
- Want free, open-source software you can inspect and modify
- Use Linux
- Would rather use the app without an account
Singlebox is the better fit if you:
- Want an actively developed home for your work apps
- Want your setup synced across your computers
- Want help from a dedicated team when you need it
- Want every account signed in, side by side
Keep your work apps in an app that keeps moving forward: try Singlebox for free.
