NovelEco is a citizen science app focused on urban wild spaces and novel ecosystems. It enables users to record and upload observations of plants and other features found in overlooked or abandoned urban areas, supporting environmental data collection for ecological research. The app is designed to gather both ecological and social science data, including information about how people perceive rewilding and urban biodiversity. It also supports collaborative participation by citizen scientists, helping researchers study attitudes toward novel ecosystems while building a structured repository of urban habitat observations.
