Househand

For people responsible for keeping a home in good shape, Househand helps organize recurring maintenance and avoid losing track of what needs attention. It starts with 33 common jobs, such as changing HVAC filters, testing smoke alarms, cleaning gutters and flushing a water heater. Each includes instructions, reasons for doing it and a recommended interval with its source; you can adjust the schedule, turn off jobs that don’t apply or add your own. Househand groups tasks by whether they’re overdue, due soon or coming up, and places seasonal jobs in the appropriate month. Mark a job complete to record its date and calculate when it’s due again. Optional reminders can alert you on the morning a task is due. You can also keep a history with notes, costs and photos, and record when major home systems were installed to help plan for future replacements. Maintenance history and costs can be exported as CSV, Excel or PDF. The app works in a web browser as well as on mobile devices. Sign-in is optional; Google sign-in can make your home record available across devices and in the web app. Househand’s intervals are general guidance, so follow the instructions for your specific equipment.
