Starting with macOS 27, Apple introduced stricter privacy protections that prevent apps from accessing data stored by other apps by default.
Switchbar uses information stored by browsers such as Google Chrome and Firefox to discover the browser profiles on your Mac. This allows you to choose a specific browser profile when opening a link, which is one of Switchbar's core features.
On macOS 27 or later, Switchbar needs Full Disk Access to read the browser files required to discover these profiles.
Switchbar only uses this access to identify browsers and their profiles. It does not read or collect your browsing history, passwords, cookies, or website sessions. This information is not uploaded to WebCatalog.
You can grant or revoke this permission at any time from System Settings → Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access.
If you don't grant Full Disk Access, Switchbar will continue to work, but it may not be able to discover and route links to individual browser profiles.
