Switchbar is a free app that gives you control over where web links open on your computer.
Instead of always opening links in your default browser, Switchbar lets you choose a specific browser, browser profile, desktop app, or WebCatalog space for each link.
Browser profile support is especially useful if you keep separate profiles for work, personal use, different clients, or different accounts. For example, you can open a work link directly in your work Chrome profile without switching profiles first.
With Switchbar, you can:
- Open links in a specific browser profile.
- Choose which browser or app opens a link.
- Create rules to automatically route certain links to specific destinations.
- Open links directly in WebCatalog desktop apps and spaces.
- Route links you click in email clients, messaging apps, browsers, and other apps.
For example, you can open Google Meet links in your work Chrome profile, personal links in your personal browser profile, and Gmail links in a specific WebCatalog desktop app.
Switchbar works especially well as a companion to the WebCatalog desktop app, but you can also use it independently with your existing browsers and apps.
Switchbar is free to use on macOS and Windows.
