Waze is a navigation app that provides real-time traffic updates and turn-by-turn voice guidance to help users navigate efficiently. It relies on crowdsourced data from its community of users, who contribute by reporting traffic incidents, road hazards, and other relevant information. This collaborative approach allows Waze to offer accurate routing and alerts about accidents, traffic jams, and police presence, helping users avoid congested areas and save time.

One of Waze's key features is its ability to update maps in real-time, allowing users to report new roads, construction, and other changes through the Waze Map Editor. Additionally, Waze can identify the cheapest fuel stations along a route, provided that fuel prices are enabled for the user's location. Users can also personalize their experience by choosing from a variety of navigation voices.

Waze integrates well with other services, such as music streaming platforms, to enhance the driving experience. It supports features like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ensuring seamless integration with vehicle infotainment systems. Furthermore, Waze offers specialized routing options for motorcycles and carpool lanes, catering to different types of users. Overall, Waze is designed to make driving more efficient and safer by leveraging community-driven data and real-time updates.

Waze (Hebrew: ווייז‎, ; formerly FreeMap Israel) is a GPS navigation software app owned by Google. It works on smartphones and tablet computers that have GPS support. It provides turn-by-turn navigation information and user-submitted travel times and route details, while downloading location-dependent information over a mobile telephone network. Waze describes its app as a community-driven GPS navigation app, which is free to download and use. The Israeli company Waze Mobile developed the Waze software. Ehud Shabtai, Amir Shinar and Uri Levine founded the company. Two Israeli venture capital firms, Magma and Vertex Ventures Israel, and an early-stage American venture capital firm, Bluerun Ventures, provided funding. Waze Mobile was acquired by Google in June 2013. The app generates revenue from hyperlocal advertising to an estimated 130 million monthly users.
