For friends, coworkers, event participants, and website visitors who need a quick shared place to chat, tlk.io lets people start a room by choosing a channel name and sharing its web address. Participants can join in a browser without signing up, using a nickname; signing in with Twitter can provide a name and avatar. It works on phones, tablets, and desktop browsers, so people can join without installing a separate chat app. Website owners can embed a tlk.io chat on a page and customize its appearance with a theme or custom CSS. The chat supports mentions, channel links, inline images from pasted image URLs, and basic Markdown formatting. It can suit casual group conversations or a live chat alongside a website or event.
