Know Nota is a document verification and AI writing detection app that evaluates how machine-like a piece of writing appears under its language model. It provides a document-level score, rating band, word count, model version, and the model’s measured false-positive rate to support informed review rather than treating the result as proof of AI authorship. Text under 100 words is not scored, and the app does not identify a specific AI system or label individual sentences.

In addition to AI text analysis, Know Nota creates signed writing records that document how a file was produced. Users can connect a selected Google Doc or upload a DOCX file to review available writing history, including editing sessions, typing pace, and pasted content, before choosing whether to save the record. Records can be shared through a verifiable link and may include document hashes, analysis results, and supporting evidence.

Know Nota also provides evidence features such as writing measurements, matched source passages, and checks for hidden characters or look-alike letters. Pasted text is processed in memory and discarded by default unless the user chooses to retain it in a record. The app is designed for students, educators, schools, publishers, editorial teams, hiring groups, and other organizations that need a transparent approach to AI writing checks, document provenance, and writing history.
