K2 Base is a web-based photovoltaic planning tool for designing solar PV projects and selecting suitable mounting systems. It enables users to create and manage projects, draw roofs and module fields, and plan multiple roof areas using satellite imagery, uploaded images, drawings, or drone photos. The software can automatically determine wind and snow loads based on project parameters to support accurate system planning.
K2 Base calculates and displays roof attachments, ballast requirements, system utilization, and module distribution. It generates detailed project documentation, including mounting plans, structural reports, ballast information, and editable product lists. Projects can be shared with other users, including people outside the same organization, and planning data can be transferred to selected solar design and simulation tools such as SolarEdge, SMA, Fronius, Kostal, GoodWe, PV*SOL premium, and archelios Pro. An interface with participating photovoltaic and electrical wholesalers also allows product lists to be transferred directly to compatible online shopping carts, helping connect PV planning with material ordering.
