DokMine is a document privacy and data redaction tool that helps identify, extract, and remove sensitive information from digital files. It scans PDFs, Office documents, email files, spreadsheets, images, scans, markup, text files, and source code to find personal and confidential data such as email addresses, phone numbers, URLs, names, credit card numbers, Social Security numbers, IBANs, passport numbers, dates of birth, IP addresses, and API keys.
The app provides both extraction and redaction modes. Extraction mode lists detected information by file and entity type, making it useful for document audits and privacy reviews. Redaction mode replaces detected data with blacked-out areas or consistent typed tokens, such as [EMAIL_1] or [PHONE_1], while preserving the original file format, layout, and structure. DokMine also uses OCR to inspect scanned documents and images, including images embedded in Office files.
DokMine supports batch processing, format-preserving document redaction, and validation checks for certain identifiers, including credit card numbers and Social Security numbers. Processed files are intended to be short-lived, with expiring download links and uploaded files cleared after processing. Automated detection may be incomplete, so each redacted document should be reviewed before it is shared, published, or sent.
