CorrLinks is an electronic messaging service designed to facilitate communication between federal inmates and their authorized contacts. This system allows inmates to send and receive messages through a secure, monitored platform. Inmates use the TRULINCS computers in their housing units to access the service, while outside contacts manage their interactions via the CorrLinks website.

The primary function of CorrLinks is to provide a controlled environment for messaging, ensuring that communications adhere to institutional guidelines. Inmates can maintain a list of up to 30 approved contacts and engage in text-only conversations. Messages are limited to 13,000 characters and do not support attachments or multimedia content. The system also includes features for managing contacts and tracking message history.

CorrLinks operates as a message board rather than a traditional email service. Users must log in to the website to send, read, and respond to messages. This setup ensures that all communications are monitored and compliant with prison regulations. The service is particularly useful for maintaining connections with incarcerated individuals, offering a structured means of communication that respects the security and operational needs of correctional facilities.
