In recent years, it has become more common for data management platforms to use ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) instead of ETL. The primary difference between ETL and ELT is that in ELT, the data is loaded into the target system first and then transformed there, whereas ETL involves pre-processing the data before it is loaded into the target system.
